Withdraw an Application

Overview

At any point during the application process, you have the ability to withdraw an application. There are two instances to use Withdraw Application: 

  1. Manual: Applicant is no longer interested in attending Job Corps (after interest has been confirmed) and requests to withdraw.
  2. Automatic: Admissions Representative cannot not confirm interest within 30 days, or no action has been taken on a case in 30 days. In this instance the case status will update to Inactive in Gateway.

This feature should not be used if applicants: are not eligible for Job Corps or if they need to be transferred to a different center. Refer to the PRH for details on instances of application withdrawal.

 

Withdraw an Application

To withdraw an application in Gateway:

1. Navigate to the case you need to withdraw.
2. Select the Actions menu.

3. Select the Withdraw Application option.
4. In the pop-up, confirm the action to withdraw application and select Withdraw.

By withdrawing the application, the following actions occur: 

  1. The case will be removed from your Home view but will still be visible from the Search view.
  2. The applicant will receive a notification that their case status has changed.
  3. The case status will update to Withdrawn in Gateway and Portal. (You will not be able to edit the application with this status.)

Reopen a Withdrawn Case

A case can be reopened after it has been withdrawn or become inactive by:

  1. Admissions staff in Gateway
  2. An applicant in Portal

Reopen a Case in Gateway

Admissions staff can reopen a withdrawn case in Gateway by: 

  1. Locating and selecting the case from the Search view. 
  2. From the case, selecting Reopen Case from the Actions menu.

Reopen a Case in Portal

An applicant can reopen their application independently in Portal by logging back into their account. They will see a prompt to Reopen Your Application.

Application information for a withdrawn case is saved for 90 days. 
After 90 days, the Case Status updates from Withdrawn to Closed, and the applicant would need to restart their application using their Portal account.
