Assess Eligibility Criteria 1-3

This user guide is for the following MyJobCorps user roles: Admissions Representative (AR), OA Manager (OAM)

Overview

After you’ve confirmed interest, verified the applicant information, and reviewed readmissions information, you may begin the eligibility assessment for Criteria 1-3.

Assess Criteria 1-3

As you assess the applicant’s eligibility, you will notice that the Gateway conducts a preliminary assessment on whether the applicant meets or does not meet a specific criterion based on their application information. Be sure to validate this information before proceeding.

If the preliminary assessment indicates “Incomplete” this means that all required applicant data has not been collected for the criterion to return a result and you are unable to proceed until all data has been collected. If the preliminary assessment indicates “Not Applicable” this means that the criterion does not apply to the applicant’s circumstances.

Refer to the PRH to find information on what supporting documentation is needed to assess each criterion.

Criterion 1, Residency Status

  1.  Navigate to the Eligibility tab, select Criterion 1, Residency Status from the Eligibility Criteria section on the left.
  2. Review the Preliminary Eligibility Criterion Results. This result is generated based on the applicant’s residency status indicated in the Portal.
    • Verify all supporting document(s) have been reviewed and confirmed.
  3. Confirm the criterion result from the dropdown.
  4. Select Continue.

    • If the applicant disclosed a disability in Portal, Gateway will automatically indicate a disability under the Preliminary Eligibility
    • Verify all supporting document(s) have been reviewed and confirmed.

Criterion 3, Low Income

  1. Select Criterion 3, Low Income.
  2. Review the information in the Preliminary Eligibility section.
    • To collect information about family size, review the Home Life section within the applicant’s case to determine information on who the applicant lives with (i.e. parents, dependents).
    • If the applicant disclosed a disability in Portal, Gateway will automatically indicate a disability under the Preliminary Eligibility
  3. Complete the required questions under the Eligibility Criterion details for the applicant.
    • The system verifies that the family size entered matches the application information in the Portal. Additionally, when entering Qualifying 6-Month Earned Income, do not use commas in the income.
    • Based on the responses to the required questions, the Preliminary Eligibility result will update from "Incomplete" to “Meets OR “Does not meet”.
    • Verify all supporting document(s) have been reviewed and confirmed.
  4. Confirm the criterion result from the dropdown.
