Portal
Portal Login
- A tutorial message now greets applicants upon their first login, offering basic instructions on how to navigate and complete their online application.
Portal Layout
- The "Application" tab has been renamed to "Dashboard" to enhance clarity and facilitate easier navigation for applicants returning to their home screen.
- The Admissions Tracker has been streamlined from six steps to four, simplifying the process for applicants to monitor their application progress effectively.
- The Portal layout has been redesigned to enable direct access to all application sections from the applicant's Dashboard.
- The Profile section has been moved to "Account Information," accessible from the top right corner dropdown menu. This section encompasses all data collected from the Express Interest Tool, allowing applicants to easily access and edit their information.
- Signatures and Documents sections have been relocated to the right-hand side of the screen for improved intuitiveness. Applicants are now informed about the number of remaining forms requiring a signature, and it is clearer that documents need to be uploaded as part of the application process.
- A new screen has been introduced to the Portal upon application submission. This screen clearly displays the next steps for applicants to continue with the admissions process.
Portal Application Questions
- The Personal Circumstances section now includes a question regarding whether the applicant is a victim of human trafficking, as well as a new option for applicants to indicate uncertainty if any of the provided options apply to them.
- The Employment section now includes a new option for applicants to indicate that they have never been employed.
- The Home Life section now includes a revised question about homelessness, which includes additional options aligning with the McKinney-Vento act. This allows applicants to specify their current living situation more accurately. Additionally, the "Learn More" text has been updated to provide further clarification.
- The Previous Job Corps Experience section and associated questions from the Portal application have been removed, as they are not required for eligibility or by Job Corps Policy.
- Questions including inquiries about claimed dependency status, college attendance, unemployment benefits, and military separation plans, have been removed as they are not required for eligibility or by Job Corps Policy.
Gateway
Gateway Layout
- The Profile tab has been moved to a new "Account" section within Gateway for improved organization and to align with the layout in Portal.
- The application layout in Gateway now aligns with the new application sections in the Portal, facilitating easier review of application data by Admissions Staff and highlighting missing data more effectively.
Edit an Application
- Required fields with missing data are now clearly marked with a "Required" placeholder, while optional fields are marked with a "-" placeholder.
- The Edit Case feature has been enhanced to provide a guided experience aligned with the Portal application. Admissions Staff are prompted to enter data based on conditional fields, ensuring completeness and accuracy.
- The Edit Case feature now includes new validation messages to ensure that Admissions Staff enter all required information before routing the case to OASIS. This helps maintain data integrity and completeness throughout the process.
Duplicate Case
- Logic has been modified to prevent duplicate submissions from creating new cases in Gateway if submitted within a minute of the original. Duplicate cases are now clearly marked and grouped together on the "All Cases" tab for easier identification by Admissions Staff.
OASIS
- OASIS now displays the MyJobCorps ID in the Manage Active Application List after the case is routed from MyJobCorps, enhancing visibility and tracking capabilities.
