Portal
Race and Ethnicity Changes (Per New OMB Guidance)
- Consolidated the race and ethnicity field into one question, added “Middle Eastern or North African” as a new category and merged “Hispanic/Latino” fields into one.
Gateway
Background Check Processing and Enhancements
- Enabled the “Request Background Check” button to automatically reactivate 120 calendar days after the original result is delivered. This enables Admissions staff to submit a new background check request (if the original results expire prior to enrollment).
- Separated the eligibility determination value of “Eligible” and “Ineligible” labels from the JACS Result field into its own field. This will avoid confusion for JACS finding that are inconclusive (e.g., pending court involvement, unpaid fines) so admission staff don’t perceive these as ineligible findings.
- Enabled Gateway to flag background check requests for Expedited Urgency cases so that JACS can prioritize them for processing.
- Added a “Last Modified Date” to show when a background check status is recently updated.
- Prevented background check status from reverting from a “Completed” status to “Background Check Results Under Review” due technical configuration.
Gateway Home view Update for Regional Directors
- Added a “Pending Arrivals” tab on the Home view for Regional Directors to track students who are pending arrival in their region.
Race and Ethnicity Changes (Per New OMB Guidance)
- Consolidated the race and ethnicity field into one question and updated existing values for Race/Ethnicity selection.
